Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has declared Pokhara as Nepal's Tourism Capital on Sunday

He declared Pokhara as Nepal's tourism capital, citing Pokhara's unique confluence of natural, cultural and adventure regions.

Pokhara is Nepal's major tourism destination. The Nepal government has announced that the destination will serve as the country's tourism capital beginning on Sunday.

Dhanraj Acharya, the head of Pokhara Metropolitan City, announced during the program that the beautiful Pokhara, which is known as the world's top tourist destination, has been officially declared as the country's tourist capital.

He stated that he believed that declaring Pokhara as the tourism capital will give a new dimension to the overall growth of the Gandaki region and the country.

He stated that Pokhara was declared the tourism capital since towns in many countries throughout the world are designated capitals based on their traits and identities.

He recalled that a study team comprised of experts had researched and proposed proclaiming the tourism capital based on a variety of criteria.

We feel that when the beautiful Pokhara, known as the world's top tourist destination, is officially designated as the country's tourist capital, a new dimension will be given to the growth of the entire Gandaki province and country. International because cities in different countries around the world are declared capital depending on their traits and identity.

He hoped that by announcing the tourism capital, the Gandaki provincial government would implement local-level tourism plans.
