Ski training started in Kalikot

KALIKOT, March 16:Ski instruction has begun in Kalikot on the initiative of the Nepal Tourism Board and the Karnali Sports Council.

Starting last Monday, basic ski training has begun at Triveni Patan Chetdi in Karnali Province's Kalikot District.

This course involves 25 trainees, three trainers from the Nepal Mountain Academy, and local tourist professionals.

The training will conclude next Monday (Chaitra 5).

The Triveni Patan region offers excellent skiing opportunities. Skiing requires at least 100 days and 30 cm of snow per year.

This program is being held to promote the potential of adventure tourism and skiing in the region.

In the opening program, the board's manager, Bimal Kandel, stated that this training was done with the participation of locals because skis are used not only for adventure tourism but also for disaster relief in steep terrain.
