Metropolitan Police removed balloons put by Chinese at Thamel

KATHMANDU, March 16:Kathmandu Metropolitan City Police removed the Chinese balloons that were planted in Thamel. The Metropolitan Police have removed approximately 300 Chinese red balloons from the Thamel area.

"In Thamel, the Chinese had set up a balloons for three days on the occasion of the New Year, but the city police removed it because it had not yet been removed," Metropolitan Police Chief Rajunath Pandey stated.

According to Pandey, despite his promise to remove it himself when he requests for permission, the balloon planted at Thamel on February 10 has yet to be removed.

"The city police had to remove it themselves," he added, adding, "We have also removed the light and rope inside the balloon."

Many Chinese-invested restaurants and hotels operate in Kathmandu's Thamel region. During the Chinese New Year, the Chinese here in Thamel, Vasantpur are having a grand festival.
