Global IME Bank organises financial literacy programs in seven provinces

KATHMANDU:Global IME Bank Limited, as part of its corporate social responsibility, identified various target groups who are financially disadvantaged and implemented a financial literacy program across 35 of the bank's branches across all seven provinces.

According to the bank, the program is open to farmers, micro, small, and medium-sized businesses, laborers, those planning to work abroad, students, women, remittance beneficiaries, and local youngsters.

More than 4,000 people have been educated on saving, credit, remittance, digital banking, insurance, investment, extra banking services, financial fraud, and financial discipline through the program, which was held at 35 venues across the country.

More than 700 people took part in various bank-organized events in Bhaktapur District of Bagmati Province, Madhyapur Thimi Municipality, Gosaikund Village of Rasuwa District, Chandragiri Municipality of Kathmandu District, and Lalitpur Metropolitan Municipality of Lalitpur District.

Similarly, about 900 locals took part in the programs of Dhorpatan Municipality of Baglung District, Baglung Municipality, Jaimini Municipality, Kusma Municipality of Parbat District, and Pokhara Metropolitan Municipality of Kaski District in Gandaki Province.

Kapilvastu Municipality of Kapilvastu District, Banganganga Municipality, Shivaraj Municipality, Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan of Dang District, Resunga Municipality of Gulmi District, Isma Rural Municipality, Bardghat Municipality of Nawalparasi District, Tansen Municipality of Palpa District, Pyuthan Municipality of Pyuthan District, Paribartan Rural of Rolpa District, Sunilsmriti Rural Municipality. More than 1,800 people from Rupandehi, Lumbini Province, participated in the program, which was held in Sainamaina Municipality, Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City, and Tilottama Municipality in the district.

Furthermore, over 750 target groups took part in the programs of Doti District's Dipayal Silagadi Municipality, Bogtan Fudsil Rural Municipality, Purvi Chowki Village Municipality, Bajura District's Madhyamalika Municipality, Baitadi District's Dasharathchand Municipality, Patan Municipality, Dadeldhura District's Ajaymeru Rural Municipality, Kanchanpur District's Bhimdatta Municipality, and Kailali District's Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City.

Global IME Bank is the first commercial bank in the private sector to have branches in all of the country's districts.
