Govt formed committee to study operation of international airports
KATHMANDU, Feb 21:The government formed a study committee, coordinated by the former secretary, to submit suggestions on the operation and construction of the country's international airports in a public-private partnership.
In a press conference held on Tuesday at the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology to publicize the Cabinet meeting decision, Minister Rekha Sharma stated that a study committee has been formed to submit suggestions to the government, coordinated by former secretary Shankar Prasad Adhikari. The meeting formed a study committee, chaired by Dipendra Bahadur Chhetri, former vice-chairman of the National Planning Commission, to submit a report with suggestions for structural and managerial improvements to the Nepal Airlines Corporation.
Minister Sharma stated that the Council of Ministers decided to proceed with the expansion of Bharatpur Airport.
