Lumbini Development Trust revoke of decision to give Stupa area in Ramgram area

KATHMANDU, Feb 15:The Lumbini Development Trust has reversed its plan to hand over the Ramgram stupa region to Sharda Prasad Adhikari's company.

Following instructions from the Federal Parliament's Accounts Committee to rescind the deal, the trust's executive meeting cancelled the decision to lease the cemetery.

There was an agreement to lease the space where Gautama Buddha's ashes are located to the promised land in the name of Sarada Prasad Adhikari's son, in order to build and protect the stupa.

On January 28, the House of Representatives' Public Accounts Committee directed that the decision to lease land in the Ramgram Stupa area to The Promised Land be canceled.

Sudan Kiranti, Chairman of the Ttrust and Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, scheduled the meeting for Tuesday.

Sharda Prasad Adhikari, a contractor, owns the residence in Khumaltar where Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda lives.
