Basanta Panchami being observed today

KATHMANDU, Feb 14:Basanta Panchami is celebrated across the country by paying honor to Goddess Saraswati, often known as the goddess of knowledge.

Writers, artists, journalists, instructors, and students perform Saraswati Pooja, in which they worship their tools such as pen, paper, pencil, and musical instruments as the goddess Saraswati.

It is also believed that if you start learning after worshiping Saraswati, you would be blessed. The day is also considered auspicious for social and religious occasions such as weddings, Bratabanda, Gufa, and Belbibaha.

It is considered auspicious to begin education and pierce children's noses and ears. Devotees, particularly students, have flocked to the temples of Goddess Saraswati since early this morning.
