Akama Hotel to operate under Ramada By Wyndham

KATHMANDU, Feb 03:Akama Hotel, which has been operating in Dhumbarahi, Kathmandu for the past four years, will now be known as the world-famous brand 'Ramada by Wyndham'. Akama Hotel and the world-famous brand 'Ramada' signed a memorandum of agreement at a special event on Thursday.

Akama Hotel has announced that a franchise deal has been inked with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, an internationally recognized and respected hotel brand, to promote and expand its operations.

This hotel, promoted by the Sanima Group, this hotel was initially operated as a four-star hotel and was upgraded to a five-star Akama Hotel on 15 December 2024. The company stated that the American chain hotel will soon be operated under the name 'Ramada by Wyndham' and would have high-end amenities.

Akama Hotel, which had a soft launch in February 2019 and became fully operational at the end of the same year, has been described by the company as a proud moment for everyone to be operate under the 'Ramada by Wyndham' brand, which has expanded to over 120 countries. The hotel believes that this will benefit Nepal's tourist, hotel, and hospitality sectors, as well as help promote tourism and Nepal in the global market.

Spread over 9 ropani areas, Akama Hotel has a total of 108 rooms and 200 beds including Superior-95, Deluxe-6, Deluxe Suite-4, Family Suite-2, and Presidential Suite-1. There are 5 halls of different types covering from minimum of 20 to 650 people as well as three restaurants including a special Chawla restaurant and outdoor swimming pool, gym, steam, sauna, jacuzzi, and spa. There are currently 130 employees of various levels working in this hotel. This hotel also has ample parking facilities with a floor basement.

This hotel is situated in the middle of the Ring Road, adjacent to popular tourist attractions such as Tribhuvan International Airport, Pashupatinath, Buddhist Stupa, Budhanilkantha Temple, Durbar Square, Swayambhunath Stupa, and Thamel.

The company also stated that Akama Hotel is planning to issue shares to the general public soon.
