Tourist arrivals in Ilam increase

ILAM, Jan 29:Tourism in Ilam has begun to resume its normal flow. Due to the covid pandemic, Ilam tourism, which had remained sluggish for the previous three years, has begun to resume its normal flow.

Recently, there has been an upsurge in the number of tourists visiting Ilam. The number of internal and external tourists visiting the district's dozens of tourism attractions has begun to increase. According to data from Jorkal Rong, a tourism information center located at the Ilam entry on the Jhapa-Mechi highway, the number of tourists visiting Ilam has recently surged.

In the first six months of the current fiscal year 2080/81, 85 thousand 326 tourists entered Ilam. Gagan Ghimire, Information Officer of the Tourism Information Center, stated that 74 thousand 777 domestic and 10 thousand 549 foreign tourists entered Ilam between Shrawan  to Poush.

Ilam received 1,289 visitors from Shrawan, 918 from Bhadra, 2,145 from Ashoj, 18,303 from Kartik, 26,548 from Mangsir, and 36,122 from Poush, according to Information Officer Ghimire.
