NAC will fly from Surkhet

KATHMANDU, Jan 28:Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) will soon operate flights from Surkhet to other districts in Karnali Province. The NAC delegation, led by Executive Chairman Yubaraj Adhikari, met with Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Purna Bahadur Khadka at the Ministry of Defence to discuss the flight's operations.

During the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Khadka requested that flights be started from Surkhet to other districts of Karnali province, such as Jumla, Humla, Simikot, Talcha, Dolpa, and other locations, and urged them to work as soon as possible.

The officials of the committee formed to arrange air service from Surkhet, as well as the chairman of the NAC, took part in the discussion.

During the discussion, Deputy Prime Minister Khadka stated that he, the federal government, and the state government all support and cooperate with NAC's long-term commercial strategy to provide aviation services from Surkhet, the capital of Karnali province, to the other districts.

NAC officials and Deputy Prime Minister Khadka discussed commencing aviation service from Surkhet as soon as possible and opening a NAC office in Surkhet to prepare for it.

The NAC's executive chairman stated that preparations are underway for the flight from Surkhet.

"A committee has also been formed for this," the presiding officer explained. "We are preparing to provide air service from Surkhet."
During the discussion with Deputy Prime Minister Khadka, Dipesh Pun, member secretary of the committee, stated that preparations will be completed by January and that work will be done to fly from Surkhet in February.

He emphasized further, saying, "We are working to connect other districts of Karnali province to Surkhet via air flights."

On this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Khadka urged that the NAC implement a strategic plan to extend flights within the country and to numerous places throughout the world, utilizing all already available aircraft.

"Nepal Airlines should be able to take maximum benefit by operating at full capacity of the current aircraft," added Deputy Prime Minister Khadka.

After the discussion, Deputy Prime Minister Khadka re-emphasized to the NAC Officer that Nepal Airlines would operate regular air services from Surkhet Airport to various districts of Karnali Province and neighboring districts to fulfill the long-standing desire of the people there.
