Turkish Airlines adds Melbourne to its flight network

KATHMANDU, Jan 24:Turkish Airlines is expanding its route network by adding Australia, a popular destination that has been on its list for flight network. 

Turkish Airlines plans to start three weekly flights to Melbourne, its 346th destination in 130 countries, beginning on March 15, 2024. This new route not only expands the airline's already outstanding worldwide presence, but it also plays an important role in promoting tourism and trade between Turkey and Australia. The Istanbul-Melbourne route, which passes through Singapore, is expected to bring thousands of people annually, considerably contributing to economic and cultural interchange between the two countries.

According to the statement, the flights will begin on March 15, and the airline has provided a special launch pricing for airfares booked between January 19 and April 15 for travel between March 15 and May 15.

Turkish Airlines' special launch pricing for Melbourne to Istanbul flights is 1499 AUD, while Istanbul to Melbourne tickets cost 1199 USD.

Supported by the Victorian Government and Melbourne Airport, the new route will connect Türkiye with Australia's largest Turkish community and one of largest trading centers of Victoria, fastest-growing state of the country.

Additionally, Turkish Airlines' new flights will increase Melbourne's access to the European, Middle Eastern, Balkan, and African markets via İstanbul, contributing to tourism, international education, business, and trade potential.

In the next few years, Turkish Airlines aims to organize direct flights to Melbourne and other potential cities in the country with the acquisition of new aircraft capable of operating non-stop flights between Istanbul and Melbourne.
