Constructing stone memorial in Pokhara in memory of those died in a plane crash

KATHMANDU, Jan 15:The Pokhara city has constructed a memorial monument in memory of those who died in the aircraft disaster in Pokhara on January 14 of last year.

On Monday, Pokhara Metropolitan Chief Dhanraj Acharya and Chief of the District Administration Office Basudev Ghimire unveiled the monument together.

The city of Pokhara established this memorial garden in tribute of those who died in the disaster, paying ten lakh rupees. All of the deceased's names and addresses are carved on the pillar.

On this day last year, a Yeti Airlines plane flying from Kathmandu to Pokhara crashed on the banks of the Pokhara Seti. Everyone on board died in the crash. 72 people died on the plane, including four crew members.

The plane crashed, killing 57 Nepalese and 15 foreign nationals, including crew members. Mayor Dhanraj Acharya told that the Metropolitan Corporation plans to establish a memorial park and a memorial monument at that spot.
