85,000 people lost their jobs due to dedicated and trunk line disputes: FNCCI President Dhakal

KATHMANDU:Chandra Prasad Dhakal, President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FNCCI), has said that 85,000 people have lost their jobs due to dedicated and trunk line disputes.

He stated that when the Nepal Electricity Authority severed power lines, 85,000 people lost their jobs. He underlined the importance of resolving the dedicated and trunk line conflict as soon as possible in order to restore lost jobs.

He requests the formation of a judicial committee to settle the conflict between industrialists and the Nepal Electricity Authority. Speaking at a program in Kathmandu on Friday, he stated that if the disagreement between industrialists and the NEA over dedicated and trunk lines is not resolved quickly, it will have a significant impact on the industrial enterprise.

He believes that the appropriate government agencies should resolve the issue, and that if they do not, the government should take the initiative to resolve the issue.

Meanwhile, Finance Minister Dr. Prakasharan Mahat stated that the government will address the conflict over dedicated and trunk lines as soon as possible. He stated at a show in Kathmandu that the issue of industrialists' power lines being severed will be resolved soon.

He stated that many industries and businesses have been impacted by power line outages, and that a solution will be found soon. He highlighted that the debate over dedicated and trunk lines should not be framed as a matter of honor. He stated that dedicated and trunk lines should not be confused.
