Manish Thapa appointed as Honorary Consul-General of Costa Rica in Nepal

KATHMANDU:The Government OF Costa Rica  has appointed Dr. Manish Thapa as Honorary Consul-General of Costa Rica for  Nepal. 

This appointment is seen as an important step in strengthening bilateral cooperation and relations in trade, tourism, and cultural exchange.

On August 16, 1977, Nepal and Costa Rica established diplomatic relations based on mutual trust, friendliness, and goodwill.

The appointment of Dr. Thapa as an Honorary Consul-General will highlight the necessity of improving cooperation in a variety of disciplines. Nepal and Costa Rica are expected to cooperate in major areas such as trade, tourism, and education.

The Costa Rican government congratulates Dr. Thapa and looks forward to a fruitful cooperation with Nepal.

This is said to demonstrate unflinching support for Dr. Thapa's goals and bilateral relations.

Dr. Thapa has a history of playing an essential role in improving Nepal-Costa Rica diplomatic relations.

His efforts facilitated the high-level official visit of then Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to Costa Rica in October 2018 while serving as a professor at the United Nations University for Peace in Costa Rica.

The visit was significant in developing diplomatic ties between the two countries.
