CAAN to installed X-ray machines to check luggage at domestic airport

KATHMANDU, Jan 01:The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) preparations to install X-ray machines for baggage screening at 19 domestic airports.

According to Pradeep Adhikari, director general of  CAAN, the task of procuring the necessary supplies to install the machine has been done, and he is ready to put it into operation within the next three months.

According to Adhikari, such a machine will be put at the airports of Lukla and Ramechhap. He stated that this will improve flying safety and benefit both passengers and airlines.

He also stated that the purchasing of new firefighting trucks has begun at the airports of Bharatpur, Simara, Rajbiraj, and Tumlingtar.
