25th Pokhara Street Festival to kick off

POKHARA, Dec 28:The Restaurant and Bar Association's (REBAN) annual road festival kicked off in Pokhara on Thursday.

The English New Year's Eve street festival is celebrating its silver jubilee this year. Dhanraj Acharya, the head of the Pokhara Metropolitan Municipality, officially opened the celebration.

It seems that this program was started with the idea of holding this festival by keeping all tourists from the country and abroad in one place. It has been 25 years today. Gandaki province itself is a rich province for language, literature, and culture. It is an international city where people from all over the world come. Let's celebrate the English New Year in that way as well," Acharya said.

According to REBAN President Naresh Bhattarai, the festival, which has become a brand, will attract tourists to Pokhara. The road festival has evolved into a tourism brand. Pokhara's tourism will grow as more visitors arrive, he said. He stated that the festival's goal is to draw 500,000 visitors. This festival will run till January 1st.

Non-essential vehicles are forbidden in the three-kilometer region from Shahid Chowk to Khare during the event. From large hotels to small restaurants, food stalls con the roadway are luring tourists.

The festival is supposed to contain cultural and original costumes, national and international food, a double song, a tableau play, a concert, a boat race, and a veteran tennis competition. At the festival, many bands will perform. Mukti and Revival, Lakshya Band, The Elements, and Lahure will be performing this year.
