Prime Minister directed Minister Kiranti not revoke 'ground handling' provided to NAC

KATHMANDU, Dec 25:Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal  has directed Sudan Kiranti, Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, not to take away Nepal Airlines Corporation's ground handling service at Tribhuvan International Airport.

On Sunday, Prime Minister Dahal gave the directed by summoning Minister Kiranti to Singh Durbar.

On the 1st of December, the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) decided that the ground handling being done by the NAC  would be given only through competition from now on. The CAAN  had decided to provide ground handling services at Tribhuvan International Airport through an organization selected through competition by Rule 5 (2) of Civil Aviation Authority Airport Service Fee Regulations 2078.

In addition, the CAAN constituted a 5-member committee to solicit bids on it on December 17th. To compile the tender documents, a group led by Director Sunil Kumash Kushwaha was constituted.
