REBAN will host the 'Pokhara Street Food Festival' on December 28th

KATHMANDU, Dec 25:On the occasion of the English New Year 2024, the Restaurant and Bar Association (REBAN) will hold a 5-day street festival here from December 28th, 2023 to January 1st, 2024.

According to REBAN, such a spectacular festival would be arranged to commemorate the English New Year while also boosting tourism in the lovely tourist city of Pokhara.


The organizers stated that despite numerous ups and downs in the past years, including political instability, earthquake, blockade, and corona pandemic, the festival has continued.Also on the occasion of the Pokhara Street celebration's 25th anniversary this year, REBAN's chairman Naresh Bhattarai stated that the celebration will be made grander, particularly for the silver jubilee.

The event will take place on the lakeside of Pokhara from December 28th, 2023 to January 1st, 2024. The festival will be conducted in an area of about 3 kilometers to the lake side of Pokhara, with the major theme 'Eat on the road, enjoy on the road'.

Cultural programs of various ethnic groups, original vesbhusa performances, national and international cuisines, dohari  song competition, tableau performance, night concert, boat race, better race, tug of war, volleyball competition, awareness street play, selfie photo booth Pokhara are the main attractions of the festival. There will be a speaking program based on the development, promotion, potential, and problems of tourism, as well as a display of indigenously created handicrafts, paintings, sculptures, and agricultural products such as vegetables and plants, according to the organizer.

Similarly, REBAN informed that during the fair, in addition to painting for children and documentaries of various adventure sports in Pokhara, as well as promotion of tourist destinations, businessmen operating in the festival area will bring the same business in front of the designated shop in line with the street festival concept and promote the business with decorations.

According to Maniraj Lamichhane, spokeswoman for the Nepal Tourism Board, this type of celebration will attract both domestic and foreign tourists and enhance tourism.
