NAC calls for bid to auction five Chinese aircraft

KATHMANDU, Dec 24:Nepal Airlines Corporation, national flag carrier, asked for a bid to auction five Chinese aircraft that had been grounded for three years.

The NAC issued a notice Thursday calling bidders to sell its two MA-60 and three Y-12 E aircraft on a "as is, where is" basis.

"NAC invites all interested companies and individuals to submit their sealed tender document for the Auction Sale of Two MA-60 and Y-12 E Aircraft on as is where is basis," the flag carrier's auction announcement released on Thursday stated.

Bidders must submit their sealed bids by February 4, 2024 (13:00 hrs- NST), according to the advertisement.

Since July 30, 2020, these aircraft have been grounded. 

Those aircraft imported from China after 2014 have lost an average of 38 million rupees each year.
