CAAN suspended paragliding flights in Pokhara

CAAN suspended paragliding flights in Pokhara

POKHARA, Dec 20:Pokhara paragliding flights have been suspended. The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has decided to halt all flights until an internal conflict is settled.

Following the decision of the Nepal Airsports Association (NAA) to open the booking, the firms in Nepal have returned to two sides. Some argue that the open booking system is correct, while others argue that it is incorrect. In the midst of this controversy, several pilots have decided not to fly paragliding, claiming that the open booking system will lead to unhealthy rivalry.

Deepak Thapa, President of the Pilot Club, stated that they have requested a one-door system to avoid unhealthy rivalry.

After the conflict between both parties reached its peak, the CAAN closed it. Previously, it was confirmed that an international flight would land in Pokhara, following which the paragliding flight from Toripani would be relocated to Mandre Dhunga. The business has been shifted to Toripani after complaints that the business has collapsed. Pokhara has more than 60 paragliding companies. There are almost 150 pilots.
