Private airline companies asked concessions for visitors to GBIA

KATHMANDU, Dec 20:Private airline companies have asked concessions for visitors traveling to Gautam Buddha International Airport in Bhairahawa in order to expand the number of flights at this airport.

In a program held by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation on Monday, private sector airline businesses asked concessions from both tourists and airlines in order for Gautam Buddha International Airport Bhairahawa to operate at full capacity.

Regarding the complete operation of Gautam Buddha International Airport Bhairahawa, private sector airline businesses demanded concessions to both tourists and airline companies in a program conducted on Monday at the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation.

On Monday, in the presence of Chief Secretary Baikunth Aryal, Lumbini Province Chief Minister Dilli Bahadur Chaudhary, Tourism Minister Sudan Kirati, and State Minister Sushila Sirpali Thakuri met with representatives of Nepal Airlines Corporation, private airline operators companies, Lumbini Province hoteliers, tourism entrepreneur, Siddhartha Industry and Commerce Association, and the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal.

The panel determined that the ministry will carry out the necessary policy work to ensure the airport's full capacity operation. On that occasion, Hansraj Pandey, Director General of Bhairahawa Airport, provided an update on the airport's status.

Private airline operators have stated that concessions for plane operators and visitors should be made at the new airport. Dilli Bahadur Chaudhary, Chief Minister of Lumbini Province, stated that even after federalization, Gautam Buddha Airport could not be completely functioning due to a centralized attitude.
