NCC and Russian Federation will collaborate to establish air link between Kathmandu and Moscow

KATHMANDU, Dec 18:A meeting was held between a Nepal Chamber of Commerce official and a business delegation of the Russian Federation who was visiting Nepal.

Joint investment and economic relationship between the two countries were discussed at a meeting held at the Nepal Chamber of Commerce headquarters in Jamal, Kathmandu.

Rajendra Malla, president of the chamber with the Russian Federation business delegation, underlined the importance of establishing direct air connectivity between Kathmandu and Moscow.

Nepal and Russia have significant diplomatic connections. "Hundreds of Nepali students are going to study engineering, medicine, and other subjects. Given that around 10,000 Russian tourists visit Nepal each year, expanding the direct air communication network will benefit both countries," stated President Malla.

Since Pokhara International Airport and Gautam Buddha International Airport are also in operation alongside Kathmandu, President Malla highlighted that economic cooperation and commercial collaboration should be achieved by developing the two nations' direct air communication network.

President Malla stated that Nepal's agricultural, tourism, industrial, and information technology sectors had a great potential for investment. President Malla has stated that the Nepal Chamber of Commerce will take the initiative to guarantee that Russian investment is return.

During their meeting with chamber officials, the Russian Federation's entrepreneurs delegate also stated that they will take measures to enhance direct aviation traffic in Nepal.

The Russian Federation delegation, led by Alexander L. Revas, stated that a combined effort should be presented to both countries' governments in order to develop air links. He stated that cooperation between the two countries is possible in other areas of business as well.

The Russian Federation delegation was interested in the tea produced in Nepal and its global market during the meeting with chamber officials.
