Hotel Association Pokhara Nepal lunches package of Let's Go to Pokhara campaign

KATHMANDU, Dec 18:Pokhara Nepal Hotel Association has launched a tourism package for the Gandaki Province tour at a ceremony held on Saturday in Bhairahawa as part of the "Jaun Hai Pokhara" (Let's Go to Pokhara) campaign, which began two decades ago.

The association's president, Laxman Subedi, revealed that the association has launched 5 packages as part of the campaign that began on Friday and is aimed at West Nepal, this time as a joint endeavor of the association and the Nepal Tourism Board.

Among the included packages are Pokhara sightseeing, an educational tour, Honeymoon, Pokhara-Muktinath, and a trekking package.  These packages related to staying in the hotel stays, meal, and traveling are for two to four nights and are priced between 3,000 and 26,000.

The program also aims to transfer tourists from the west to Pokhara and from Pokhara to the west. According to Rajendra Dhakal, general secretary of the association, this effort will also help to restore tourism to pre-covid-19 levels. According to the Pokhara Hotel Association, there are about 1,200 tourist-level hotels in the tourist city of Pokhara. According to Dhakal, the association's general secretary, those hotels have 40,000 beds. He informed me that 15,000 people are directly employed by hotels in the Pokhara area.

According to Chandraprakash Shrestha, President of the Siddhartha Hotel Association, it is sad that Gautam Buddha International Airport has yet to begin operating efficiently 18 months after its inauguration. He said that their pressure movement is continuing to operate regular international flights from the airport.

Pom Narayan Shrestha, chairman of the Pokhara Tourism Council, warned that the government was being pressured for international flights from Pokhara's new airport and that they would be forced to protest if their patience was broken. He said that the Council has solidarity for the operation of international flights from the airport.

According to Ramu Joshi, Executive Officer of the Tourism Development Council Lumbini, tourism should now be promoted in a new and integrated way. He further stated that 500 Indian visitors travel through the Belhia border. Journalist Naresh KC suggested expanding the notion of the Golden Triangle to include Pokhara, Lumbini, and Chitwan.Journalist Madhav Dhungana suggested that the government put pressure on the government to ensure that the Pokhara and Gautam Buddha airports operate well. Kundan Mishra, senior officer of the Nepal Tourism Board, spoke about the board's formation, organization, mission, and activities during the program. Rachna Pant, President of NATTA Lumbini, also spoke during the ceremony.

President Subedi stated  that Nepalese tourists now account for 35% of all visitors to Pokhara. This campaign was also carried out by the association in other cities in eastern Nepal in October. 

According to the belief that domestic tourism is the foundation of sustainable tourism, the campaign launched two decades ago has included Nepalganj, Dhangadhi, and Mahendranagar, in addition to Bhairahawa, and will continue until December 20, according to Deepak Shrestha, vice president of the association.
