Himalaya Airlines will begin direct flights between Kathmandu and Lhasa on December 28
KATHMANDU, Dec 14:Himalaya Airlines will begin direct flights from Kathmandu to Lhasa, Tibet. Himalaya Airlines will fly from Kathmandu to Lhasa once a week. There are currently no direct flights to Lhasa.
Tourists face challenges due to a lack of direct flights. Tourists, according to tourism professionals, will grow once Himalaya Airlines begins flying and can travel cheaply.
Himalaya Airlines has announced that flights between Kathmandu and Lhasa would begin on December 28. The initial air fare for this is set at $334. The flight lasts 1 hour and 20 minutes.
Himalaya Airlines, which will start the first two flights on Thursdays, plans to fly every week on Mondays thereafter.
As passenger demand grows, the airline intends to increase the number of flights. Although many Chinese have visited Tibet, many have been unable to visit Nepal due to a lack of road and air travel.
Travel will become more affordable as the number of flights increases and new airlines enter the market. The Himalaya Airlines now has four aircraft and serves ten destinations.
