KATHMANDU, Dec 14:The Civil Aviation Authority  of Nepal (CAAN) completed constructing a heliport at Nalinchowk in Bhaktapur. CAAN has conducted a demo flight at the new heliport in Nalinchowk, Bhaktapur.

According to Gyanendra Bhul, the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal's (CAAN) media officer, the CAAN is planning to relocate a significant portion of the helicopter operation from Tribhuvan International Airport to Nalinchowk.

In preparation for the transfer of the heliport from Tribhuvan International Airport, a heliport has been developed at Nalinchowk. The heliport cost 119 million to build.

According to co-spokesman Gyanendra Bhul, helicopters will fly/land from Nalinchok Heliport in fiscal year 2080/081. The Heliport, according to Bhul, can accommodate 17 helicopters.

The demo flight was undertaken by Mountain Air's AS-350 helicopter, according to Bhul, the CAAN's co-spokesperson. From Kathmandu, the authority's technical team and a helicopter pilot team traveled to Nalinchowk Heliport.

"Following the demo flight, the said team submits a report to the CAAN." If any flaws are discovered in that report, they will be addressed," Co-spokesperson Bhul said, adding that "the heliport will be operational in this fiscal year after the construction of the helicopter terminal, airline office, and security office on the ground is completed."

Nalinchowk Heliport is 6.2 nautical miles away from Kathmandu.
