TIA tightened distribution of passes

KATHMANDU, Dec 09:The distribution of passes at Tribhuvan International Airport has been tightened. The airport has taken strict action, claiming that when airline operators enter the airport unnecessarily based on their passes, the crowd grows and airport security becomes a challenge.

Pass distribution has been tightened, according to Airport General Manager Pratap Babu Tiwari. "Passes have only been distributed based on need," General Manager Tiwari explained, adding that "people who do not work have been closed."

For the past ten days, the airport has tightened pass distribution. The distribution of passes to the president, vice president, and director of helicopter companies is currently prohibited. The distribution of passes has also been restricted to the marketing staff of the airlines.

Many airlines and helicopter companies have been banned from giving passes to domestic airports. Passes have only been issued to accountable managers, operations department staff, engineers, and those involved in the flight. Previously, the airport issued passes to airlines and helicopter operators based on demand.

The airport issues passes to airline and helicopter company employees, which must be renewed every 2-2 years.

The airline operators have complained that due to the airport's strict distribution of passes, problems have arisen as a result of employees being unable to enter. "We will enter the airport only if necessary," said the operator, adding, "Now we are facing a problem when the distribution of passes is suddenly stopped."
