NCC Chairman Malla urges govt to operate GBIA at full capacity

LUMBINI, Nov 24:Rajendra Malla, Chairman of Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC), has said that Bhairahawa International Airport should be operated at maximum capacity. He stated during the 'Sixth Lumbini Provincial Festival,' which began on Wednesday in Bhairahawa, Rupandehi, that the private sector's investment of billions of rupees was jeopardized because the airport could not be operational.

Malla emphasized that with the airport's operation, Lumbini, the birthplace of Gautam Buddha, should become a tourist destination for international visitors. ''After the airport is built, the investment of crores of rupees spent to promote commercial operations is jeopardized,'' he added. In this regard, attention must be paid to the government and relevant agencies.
