Sanitation at Manakamana Temple to mark 25th anniversary of Manakamana Cable Car

KATHMANDU, Nov 23:Mankamana Darshan Pvt Ltd, Nepal's first cable car service company has cleaned the Mankamana temple premises, a popular religious place in Gorkha, to mark its 25th anniversary.

Ujjwal Sherchan, Station Manager of Manakamana Cable Car, stated that garbage from the temple and its environs was collected and managed with the participation of cable car employees. 

Similarly, the road area under the Prithviraj highway around Cheres, which is the cable car substation, was cleaned.

Manakamana cable car, which was formally launched on November 24, 1998, is completing 25 years of service on Friday. Manakamana temple, a well-known religious place in Ward No. 2 of Gorkha's Sahid Lakhan Rural Municipality, can be reached via the Mankamana cable car.

Sunil Karamacharya, Assistant Station Manager, stated that over 18.1 million pilgrims have reached at the Manakamana Temple via the Manakamana cable car during the cable car's operation period.

Tourists coming from the SAARC countries including Nepali-India, and tourists coming from other countries including China to visit the Manakamana temple have reached the famous Manakamana temple by riding the Mankamana cable car. 

Rajeshbabu Shrestha, Director of Manakamana cable car, informed us that Manakamana Cable Car, which is operated in analog technology, is being prepared to move to digital technology next year.
