Dusit Princess Kathmandu organizes cake mixing ceremony

KATHMANDU, Nov 22:The Dusit Princess Kathmandu organized a 'cake mixing ceremony' on Wednesday to mark the arrival of Christmas and the start of the winter holiday season.

Dusit Princess Kathmandu invited special guests from the travel and corporate industries, celebrities, and in-house guests to this fun-filled celebration. At the occasion, well-known Nepali film industry figures such as actress Swastima Khadka, TV personality Deepa Shree Niraula, and health campaigner Sabina Kafle were spotted.

The cake-cutting ceremony is a traditional rite that symbolizes the start of the holiday season, particularly in Western countries, and is frequently connected with Christmas celebrations. Various dried fruits, nuts, and spices are blended with alcohol such as rum or brandy and left to soak for several weeks or months during this ceremony.

To get an authentic taste and flavor of Christmas cake, it is thought that fruits should be soaked and blended for more than a month prior.

The mixture is then used to make Christmas cakes, fruitcakes, and other holiday baked items. The ceremony itself is frequently a social occasion, with family and friends gathering to take part in the mixing, which is sometimes accompanied by music, decorations, and festivities. It's a fun way to start the holiday season by gathering ingredients for delectable delicacies to be enjoyed over Christmas and other winter holidays.
