CNI's suggestion for Federal Tourism Act

KATHMANDU, Nov 10:The Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) has made suggestions for the Federal Tourism Act. On Thursday, a delegation led by CNI Vice President Raj Bahadur Shah submitted the suggestion to Sudan Kiranti, Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation.

Vice President Shah stated that he got suggestions from tourism-related groups and submitted them to Minister Kiranti in collaboration with the CNI's Tourism Committee. According to the CNI, the prepared  was developed at the request of Minister Kiranti.


The suggestions collected from Hotel Association Nepal (HAN),  Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA), Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAN), Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA), SKAL International Nepal (SKAL), Restaurant and Bar Association (REBAN), Nepal Association of Tour Operators (NATO), Nepal Association of Rafting Agents (NARA), Tourist Guide Association of Nepal (TURGAN), Nepal Tourist Vehicle Association, World Tourism Network Nepal Chapter and others have been submitted to Minister Kiranti.

The CNI's president, Rajesh Kumar Agarwal, stated that tourism is a crucial sector for economic development and that the Federal Tourism Act will help it fulfill its full potential.

Deepak Raj Joshi, Director General of the CNI, stated that Nepal's geographical structure, placed between the world's two largest economies, India and China, has enormous potential to boost the national economy's competitiveness.

The CNI has offered recommendations for the Federal Tourism Act based on ten themes, including the Act's structure, aims, and preamble. The Federal tourist Act also makes recommendations for the definition of tourist activities, services, businesses, and destinations in order to fully describe the extent and scope of the tourism sector.

Accepting the CNI's recommendation, Minister Kiranti stated that the Federal Tourism Act is a top priority for the Ministry.
