Taalbarahi temple in middle of Phewa taal started reconstructed

POKHARA, Nov 02:The reconstruction of Taal Barahi Temple, a famous religious tourism spot in Pokhara's midst of Phewa Lake, has started.

Additional structures, including the main temple, that were destroyed in the 2072 earthquake will be constructed at a cost of approximately 90 million rupees.

Within two years, the work began with the creation of a master plan to complete the construction in its original shape.

The Department of Archaeology is to supervise the renovation of the temple, which was founded in Bikram Sambat 1467 and restored in 2014.

There is a legend that in ancient times there was a stone in the mound of clay and a temple was established there and worship started as Barahi.

There is a history that the island was formed in the middle of the lake by the power of Barahi Devi, and later a temple was established there.

Taalbarahi Temple attracts both religious and non-religious tourists with the shadow of Machhapuchhre visible in the lake and the picturesque view of the temple complex in the middle of the lake.

From the shore of the lake, you can reach the temple by boat in five minutes.
