President Paudel says- Nepal should open climbing to more mountains

KATHMANDU, Nov 01:President Ramchandra Paudel has stated that more Nepalese mountains should also be opened to for climbing.

Nepal now permits the ascent of 27 different mountains.

President Paudel has also asked the government to promote the mountains that are not allowed to climbing immediately.

On Wednesday, at the Nepal Mountaineering Association's 50th anniversary celebration,  he asked the government to open the climbing of those mountains and take an appropriate decision regarding the responsibility of management and promotion.

He said that Nepal Mountaineering Association can be a good partner for the management and promotion of mountains.

The global network maintained by the association through the International Mountaineering and Mountaineering Federation and the Union of Asian Alpine Associations, according to President Poudel, played an essential role in promoting mountain tourism.

He advised the government and the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation to do more to promote and expand mountain tourism.
