Tourist flock in Myagdi and Mustang

MYAGDI, Nov 01:Tourists are flocking to Myagdi and Mustang. Tourists are packed inside hotels and lodges.

The hotel was packed, according to Tara Prasad Acharya (Baburam), head of the Myagdi Hotel and Restaurant Business Association.

"The hotel is full of visitors from all over the country," said Acharya, who also owns Hotel Yak in Galeshwar.

Hotel rooms are scarce in Beni, Galeshwar, Pokhrebgar, Bhurung-Tatopani, Dana, Ghodepani, and Singa-Tatopani.

According to the Association of Hotel and Restaurant Professionals, Beni has 50 hotels with a total capacity of 1,000 persons. According to Raju Hamal, a hotelier from Bhurung-Tatopani, which has more than ten hotels with services, all of the hotels have been full for the previous three days.

Domestic visitors from Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwan, Biratnagar, Rupandehi, and other districts have been pouring into Mustang via Myagdi since the day following Bada dashain Tika. Pratap Mahat, the head of Ghasa Police Station and Deputy Inspector of Police, reported that 4 to 5,500 tourists have entered Mustang every day for the previous three days.

"On October 26, 5,500 in 1,200 vehicles, 5,500 in 974 vehicles on 27th, and 4,000 in 700 vehicles on 28th ," stated the official. "At other times, tourists used to enter in 150 to 200 vehicles every day."

According to Mahat, motorbikes, private vehicles, and scooters are used by more people to visit Mustang than jeeps and buses.

According to Raju Lalchan, a hotelier from Marpha and member of the executive committee of Gharpazhong Rural Municipality, students, businessmen, employees, and other professionals visited Mustang due to the tourist season, pleasant weather, and festival vacations.

"Last year in Dashain, when the road was blocked due to rains, not many guests came, even those who came were sad," he went on to say.

Autumn is thought to be suitable for trekking. According to hoteliers, Nepali tourists outnumber foreign visitors.
