UAAA conference begins in Kathmandu on Tuesday
KATHMANDU, Oct 29:Nepal will host a conference of alpinists from all over Asia. The Union of Asian Alpine Associations (UAAA), the umbrella organization of Asian Alpine Clubs, will hold its general assembly in Nepal. Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) will host the general meeting.
Mohan Lamsal, Secretary General of the NMA, stated that more than 50 representatives from 15 Asian nations where mountain activities are taking place will visit Nepal, where climate change issues will be discussed alongside mountain activities.
He stated, 'The findings of such a conference in Nepal to promote our country, the interactions connected to mountains, and mountains can be advised to design appropriate policies.'
Such a meeting, according to General Secretary Lamsal, will help to play an effective role in lowering the risk of mountain activities and keeping tourists safe. On Tuesday, the conference will be place in Kathmandu.
Along with the UAAA conference, there will be a special program occasion NMA's 50th anniversary. On the occasion of the NMA's 50th anniversary, President Ramchandra Poudel will kick off the program.
