Number of climbers increasing this autumn

KATHMANDU:The number of tourists getting mountain climbing permits this autumn has grown. By the second week of October, 881 mountaineers had obtained authorization to climb the mountain from the tourism department. The number of mountain climbing permits issued this season was 339 as of September 21st. The number of climbing permits had more than doubled by the third of this month.

According to data given by the  department of tourism, a total of 702 male and 179 female climbers from 114 teams have been permitted to climb 42 summits and peaks.

While giving permits to the stated number of tourists, the department of tourism, collected 57.7 million rupees in royalties. During the tourist season, many tourists come for trekking and mountain climbing.
