Tourism ministry called airline companies

KATHMANDU, Oct 16:Sudan Kiranti, Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, has met with businessmen  to discuss ways to make air travel more convenient during Dasain, Tihar, and Chhath.

Tourism Minister Kiranti met with air operators after receiving numerous complaints about high costs, particularly during the holiday season, when airlines began to impose maximum pricing.

Aviation regulator the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) regulates the maximum and lowest tariffs for air travel in Nepal. According to this, when demand is high, airlines offer tickets at the highest possible price.

When demand falls, they sell tickets at the lowest possible price. Tickets are being offered at the maximum price due to the great demand for tickets during the festival.

What can be done, Minister, to make air travel more coordinated and affordable? "We have started discussions with businessmen," Rajan Rai, Minister Kiranti's press coordinator, said.

Minister Kiranti stated that he is also interested in the issue of air fare and informed the businessmen that he is ready to determine whether there are ways to facilitate it through government mechanisms. He stated that the decision is still pending because the conversation is ongoing.
