Action will be taken if air fares increased by violate law: Tourism Minister Kirati

KATHMANDU, Oct 14:Sudan Kirati, Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, has stated that the Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) should add additional planes to manage airfares.

Minister Kirati told the media following the House of Representatives meeting on Thursday that the Nepal Airlines Corporation should buy planes to limit the controlled rise in fares.

He stated that no one is permitted to deviate from the rules and raise the airfare. He stated that the government cannot control private companies more and he said that private companies cannot go beyond the law.

'No one is allowed to break the regulations,' he stated. Nepal Airlines Corporation requires a plane to interfere in order to control the market's uncontrolled fares. We are in the midst of purchasing a plane for this purpose, and it would not be otherwise. Even if we have greater authority over private enterprises, we cannot be friendly to them again. They cannot, however, go above and beyond the law. No one has the right to express a whim. Nobody is free to act arbitrarily. If you violate the law, you will face consequences. If it is illegal, I will take action immediately.

He warned to take action if airfares were raised the beyond the law.
