Helicopter flight ban lifted

Helicopter flight ban lifted

KATHMANDU, Oct 13:After three months, the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) removed the restriction on helicopter flights. The prohibition on cans will be repealed after the rainy season is over.

However, he has established new flight criteria such as sling, flower showering, rescue, mountain flight, and sightseeing.

Gyanendra Bhul, CAAN's information officer, stated that the pilot-in-command of the sling flight should have special understanding about the destination and the flight. Before flying, the pilot must pass a safety analysis, according to the new criteria.

When flying a helicopter of a special kind, it will be allowed to fly only if it is suitable following a safety risk assessment. First, the Sling, Mountain, and Showering Flowers flights have been maintained. The procedure must be followed in this case," Bhul explained. "Separate approval must be taken for sling flights."

He stated that helicopter flights had been strictly enforced in the interest of aviation safety. CAAN has proposed new criteria to make helicopter flying inspections easier.

Due to the high number of helicopter mishaps, the CAAN banned sling, flower shower, and other helicopter operations three months ago.
