Nepal Airlines to operate flights to Sydney, Colombo, and Seoul

KATHMANDU, Oct 06:Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC), the nation's flag carrier, will begin direct flights to Sydney, Australia, Colombo, Sri Lanka, and Seoul, South Korea. The corporation's executive chairman, Yuvaraj Adhikari, informed us that an action plan has been devised to fly to Sydney, Colombo, and Seoul soon.

The executive chairman Adhikari stated at the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between four different organizations, including the NAC and the private sector Nepal Chamber of Commerce, that some parties are attempting to halt the flight to Australia and that the flight will be extended to destinations including Sydney despite all kinds of pressure and influence.

"The NAC has done a lot of work for the flight to Sydney, but some syndicated groups are trying to prevent the corporation's plane from going to Sydney, we will succeed in reaching the target by breaking various pressures," he went on to say.

According to Adhikari, the firm is attempting to expand foreign flying destinations as well as boost the number of flights to existing destinations. He added that there is a plan in the works to purchase a jet for that reason and make the service operational even if the plane is leased.

Noting that the NAC plays a role in bringing international tourists to Nepal, executive chairman Adhikari emphasized the importance of the government paying attention to the NAC's management in order to improve the NAC's services.

Given his sense of national responsibility, he believes that the purchase of three TwinOtter planes to fly in distant places is in the works and will be worthwhile shortly. Tanka Nidhi Dahal, director of the NAC's commercial department, stated that there is a proposal to increase the destination by adding planes.
