Jeep Safari opens in Sauraha

CHITWAN, Oct 05:Jeep safaris have begun in the Sauraha area under Chitwan National Park. Safari has been allowed for 32 jeep from the Sauraha area.

Ganesh Tiwari, the park's information officer, informed us that jeep rides began in the Sauraha area on Tuesday and will be expanded to other areas after the damaged roads are repaired.

He stated that, in addition to maintaining the road within the park, authorization will be granted for jeeps to access from Kasara, Meghauli, Amaltari, Kujauli, and Madi. Last year, 16 jeep from Kasara , 9 jeep from  Meghauli, 5  jeep from Amaltari, 2 jeep from Kujauli and 1 jeep from  Madi  were authorized to operate.

The jeep safari has been stopped since June 16 due to the collapse of the road inside the park due to rain and potholes, as well as the collapse of the 'culvert' at Kholsa.

According to Tiwari, the top choice of tourists visiting Chitwan is a jeep  safari in the park. Tourist activities such as elephant safaris in the intermediate community forest, trekking in the park, and boat rides on the Rapti River are also popular.
