Initiative to attract foreign tourists to Bharatpur visit year

CHITWAN, Oct 05:During the Bharatpur visit year, an initiative has been launched to attract foreign tourists. The Bharatpur Metropolitan Municipality will commemorate 2024 as the Year of Visitation.

Som Sapkota, the spokesperson of the International Non-Resident Nepali Association, has been appointed as the coordinator of the international coordination committee for the visit year, and Nepalis from all over the world have been invited. According to Sapkota, Nepalis from 54 countries have been grouped together on social media. More countries and people are gradually joining.

Residents in Chitwan, as well as Nepalese living there, are encouraged to visit Nepal during the visit year. In addition, a push to bring friends to Bharatpur has begun. Sapkota stated that the head of the organization where he works, as well as other persons, were invited and asked to visit during the visit year.

They have been asked to send tourists to Bharatpur through them, coordinating with the local government and numerous organizations. Hotels, restaurants, and stores run by Nepalis have been asked to display posters commemorating the year of visit and to broadcast digital content commemorating the year of visit.

Similarly, materials connected to the visit year, such as posters and leaflets, are stored in embassies. A strategy has been developed to bring the greatest number of tourists to Bharatpur throughout the visit year, with the chairpersons of non-resident Nepalese associations from the respective countries serving as advisors.

On the eve of the Non-Resident Nepali Association conference, the International Coordinating Committee Chitwan Society is holding a meeting in Bharatpur on October 14. This will make it easy to invite Nepalis from other countries and schedule their visits here throughout the year. There are Nepalis in more than 112 countries in the world.

Metropolitan Chief Renu Dahal stated that the International Coordination Committee will welcome Bharatpur people, Chitwan inhabitants, and all Nepalis who are overseas for the visit year. Similarly, she informed me that they are planning to promote the Year of Visiting throughout the world via diplomatic offices and non-resident Nepalese groups.

She informed me that they are working on inviting the officials they meet while traveling abroad. The Metropolitan Municipality has rapidly progressed its preparations with the hunt for new sites in order to lengthen the stay of tourists as well as invite internal and overseas tourists.

Chitwan National Park and its exotic fauna are the primary choice for visitors. To show tourists the tigers, an open cage is being created in Devanagar, the metropolitan metropolis. Dahal continued, "We have advanced the work so that the tourists who come to Bharatpur do not return without seeing the tiger." The city is making final preparations to open the historically significant Diyalo bungalow.

The Metropolitan Municipality's deputy chief, Chitrasen Adhikari, stated that preparations for the visit year are moving quickly. He stated that they are optimistic about the number of domestic and foreign tourists who will visit. He stated that the city is attempting to manage the city's major tourist spots as well as hunt for new ones.

Over four lakh foreign tourists are likely to visit during the visit year. According to the official, plans are being made to attract many of the visitors entering Nepal to Bharatpur. Work is being done to collaborate with various tourism groups in Nepal for this purpose. Chitwan is the country's third most popular tourism attraction. The year of tourism is anticipated to boost tourist activities here, which have languished since the COVID.

The Metropolitan Municipality has begun the visit year's operations by organizing numerous committees. Tourist hotels can be found in Bharatpur's main urban regions, such as Meghauli, Patihani, Jagatpur, and Devanagar. Tourist attractions range from Chowki Danda for sunrise to Golaghat for sunset. The park connects the Bharatpur metropolis between the Rapti and Narayani rivers. As a result, it has begun to be recognized as an important location in the country for eco-tourism.
