158 flights and landings in one day on Sunday in Lukla

KATHMANDU, Oct 04:Tenzing Hillary Airport in Lukla has reopened for plane and helicopter services. According to airport chief Umesh Kumar Panthi, there were 158 flights and landings in one day following the start of regular flights from Kathmandu, Phaplu, and Ramechhap.

He informed me that there are 32 flights from Tenzing Hillary Airport to Ramechhap Airport, including 14 Summit Air flights, 12 Tara Air flights, and 6 Sita Air flights. Similarly, Tara Air has two flights to Phaplu Airport, Sita Air has three flights to Kathmandu Airport, and Summit Air has one flight.

On Sunday, he said, there were 39 helicopter trips. It is seen that the tourist traffic will gradually increase.

"Various airlines have been flying regularly with a night stop at Ramechhap since Sunday." 'The flight activity has begun with the beginning of the special tourist season,' said Airport Chief Panthi, 'and the weather towards Lukla is favorable at the moment.'
