Pokhara got 292 new trekking guides

POKHARA, Oct 04:Pokhara now has 292 trekking guides. Guides were added through a 6-week training program provided by the Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN) Gandaki Province in technical collaboration with the Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management (NATHM).

Dharmaraj Panthi, president of TAAN Gandaki, reported that 292 persons passed the exam and earned certificates. 

He stated that since 1998, TAAN Gandaki has trained around 1,900 persons at various times.

The Annapurna Circuit, Annapurna Base Camp, Mardi Himal, Dhaulagiri Circuit, Millennium, Poonhill, and other world-class hiking trails in the Pokhara area have recently drawn increased interest in trekking tourism.
