Mountain guide Bhote became first Nepali to ski from Manaslu peak

KATHMANDU, Oct 02:Tshering Pande Bhote, a well-known mountain guide, climbed Mt Manaslu and skied down from the summit, becoming the first Nepali climber to do so. He is the first Nepali climber to ski from the summit of Mt Manaslu.

At 10:37 a.m. on September 21, 45-year-old Bhote of Sankhuwasabha District Bhotkhola-3 successfully climbed the world's eighth highest peak, according to Seven Summit Treks Company.

Tshering Pande Bhote learned about mountain guides in New Zealand. He is also the first batch of Nepal's certified Mountain Guides.

In addition, he is Nepal's first long-line helicopter rescue specialist and instructor.

Since 1996, he has successfully guided mountaineers to various mountains above 8000 meters, including Everest, Cho Oyu, Shishapangma, Manaslu, Dhaulagiri, Makalu, and Lhotse. He is also Nepal's first ski instructor.
