NTB to only purchase electric vehicles in new vehicles

KATHMANDU, Sep 29:The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) has announced that in case of purchasing a vehicle,  it will only purchase an electric one.

The NTB, which presented the budget two months after the start of the current fiscal year, declared this in the budget.

According to the NTB's budget, "Electric vehicles will be purchased when purchasing vehicles to be used for daily commuting."

The government of Nepal has adopted a policy of not buying new vehicles this year to save public expenditure. The NTB has stated that it will solely purchase electric vehicles.

For the current fiscal year 2023/24, the NTB has proposed a budget of 2.1 billion rupees.
