IME Group to collaboration with a Chinese company to develop Disneyland

KATHMANDU, Sep 29:In technical collaboration with China CAMC Engineering (CAMK), IME Group intends to establish a significant tourism attraction.

During Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal's visit to China, the two firms struck an agreement to create a theme park similar to Shanghai Disneyland in China.

China CAMC Engineering Co. (CAMCE) of China is a subsidiary of China National Machinery Industry Corporation (SINOMAC).

It has experience in engineering design, construction, and consultancy. This company was also responsible for the development of Pokhara International Airport, which was completed on time. He has constructed hundreds of infrastructures and industries around the world.

The Chairman of IME Group, Chandra Dhakal, announced that an agreement for cooperation in the domains of industry, infrastructure, and information technology, including cable bars, theme parks, and other world-class tourism sites in Nepal, had been reached.

He further stated that under this collaboration, operations such as project engineering will be carried out by combining the two organizations' knowledge and competence.

"In the first phase, we will build a large-scale theme park, this park will be similar to Shanghai Disneyland or Singapore's Santosa Island," Dhakal stated following the agreement's signing.

The Chinese company will provide technical assistance in this project, while the IME group will make the investment.

Dhakal stated that preliminary work on the theme park's construction has begun. "Since it requires a large area, it will be built outside Kathmandu, possibly in Chitwan," he stated.
