Arrangements to be made to visit Kailash Mansarovar via Humla: Prime Minister Dahal

KATHMANDU, Sep 29:Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has stated that efforts will be made to make it easier for Hindu pilgrims to reach the sacred destinations of Kailash Mountain and Mansarovar Lake from Nepal's Humla.

On Thursday, Prime Minister Prachanda, who is on an official visit to China, visited Mount Kailash and Mansarovar Lake. He stated that he and the Chinese government have reached a deal in principle to allow tourists from Nepal, India, and other countries to visit Kailash Parbat and Mansarovar via Humla.

Prime Minister Dahal stated that the construction of a high-quality road connecting Simkot and Mount Kailash will begin soon.

China's autonomous area is around 250 kilometers from Kailash Mansarovar in western Tibet. When driving from Humla in Nepal, Humla is 160 kilometers from Simkot's headquarters and 70 kilometers from the Nepal-China border.

The road network from Simkot to Kailash Mansarovar is now connected, however only the road tracks have been opened, making travel difficult.

The effort to improve the road's quality will begin soon, according to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda.
