World Tourism Day :Welcome to tourists entering Bhaktapur
KATHMANDU, Sep 28:Sunil Prajapati, Chief of Bhaktapur Municipality, welcomed the first group of foreign tourists visiting Bhaktapur on the occasion of the 44th World Tourism Day.
They were greeted with Khada, Bhadgaon caps, traditional bags, and flower bouquets at Khauma Dhaka in the Bhaktapur Durbar area on Wednesday morning.
Bhaktapur Municipality and Bhaktapur Tourism Development Committee, Bhaktapur Tour Guide Management Committee, and Tourist Police jointly organized the event to welcome 17 tourists, including 1 Australian and 16 Indians, who entered Bhaktapur with the presentation of Lakhe Dance.
In welcoming tourists, City Chief Prajapati stated that Bhaktapur's old city is a heritage city in and of itself, and that the municipality is continually emphasizing the preservation of Bhaktapur's art and culture.
He stated that internal and external tourists play an important role in the development of Bhaktapur and that the Bhaktapur municipality is taking the necessary steps to organize, dignify, and discipline the tradition and culture of Bhaktapur, which has been going on for hundreds of years.
