Jumla Airport to be expanded
KATHMANDU, Sep 26:Jumla Airport will be expanded. According to a letter submitted to Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) Jumla by the CAAN Corporate Planning and Monitoring Department, 4 crore 42 lakh 47 thousand 787 rupees 61 paise has been granted for the expansion of Jumla Airport.
The program has been approved, according to Santosh Adhikari, Chief of Jumla Airport. Following the acquisition of the airport's land, the expansion program will construct the runway, taxiway, and apron.
The CAAN has also budgeted 40 lakhs for the method of filling water from vehicles at seven airports, including Jumla. This budget will provide 5 lakh 71 thousand 428.57 paise to the airport.
Now a days the Jumla airport can accommodate TwinOtter planes. . Locals have long advocated for the airport's expansion to accommodate large jets.
Tshiring Lamu Lama Tamang, a member of the House of Representatives, announced that the letter had been received and that the funds to extend the airport had been authorized. He also stated that the government, local inhabitants, and relevant authorities must work together to expand the airport.
"All citizens must take an interest in the development of their district," said MP Lama. No one can stop the development and progress of this place if they are active and interested."
According to him, an amount of one crore rupees was received last year. The budget, however, was frozen because the work could not begin.
