Entrepreneurs are excited as tourist increases

MYAGDI, Sep :Tourist has begun to increase in Ghodepani and Poonhil, Myagdi's tourist destinations. Poonhill, located in Annapurna rural municipality-6 and accessible by the circuit Annapurna trekking route, is a popular destination for both domestic and international visitors.

Meena Pun, Chairperson of the Ghodepani Hotel Management Committee, stated that foreign tourists had begun to arrive since the conclusion of the summer season. Since the first week of August, 20 to 100 foreign tourists have arrived in Poonhill on a regular basis. She stated that foreign tourists had begun booking accommodations for the forthcoming season.

According to Pun, the peak tourist seasons are October to November and February through June. She stated that during the peak season, 400 to 1000 people come here every day. According to him, even though the tourism season has not yet begun, local businesspeople are excited because foreign and domestic travelers have begun to arrive.

Gyan Bahadur Garbuja, a local tourism merchant, stated that group trips from various schools, institutions, organizations, and groups had increased. He stated that the number of domestic tourists has increased since the road to Ghodepani was opened.

According to the municipality office, five local merchants have signed a contract with the municipality for the operation of the entry fee and Teashop in Poonhil for Rs 63 lakh 11 thousand. Poonhill charges an entry fee of Rs 50 per person for Nepalis and Rs 100 per person for foreign tourists.

"The movement of tourists has begun in this area; we have cleaned the trekking route leading to Poon hill from Ghodepani," Garbuja said, adding that "tourists have also begun making their tour schedules and booking hotels." According to him, hoteliers increased the hotel's capacity as the number of foreign and domestic guests began to increase in this area prior to the season.
Garbuja stated that there are 26 large hotels in Ghodepani, which has 43 homes. Other houses have stores and restaurants. "Poonhill, located at an elevation of 3,200 meters above sea level, is known as the best tourist destination on the Annapurna Trail," he stated.

He states that after visiting this place, travelers are drawn in by the natural beauty and return. "From Poonhill, you can see a beautiful view of the Himalayan range and the sunrise." Every morning, tourists gather to Poonhill to see the dawn."

Pun, head of the Ghodepani Hotel Management Committee, stated that Ghodepani's tourist businesses are working to make this location easily accessible via hiking route and road. According to him, the Annapurna Rural Municipality of Myagdi's center is now linked to the Ghodepani road network from Pokhrebagar.
